Overrated ”weird” indie/queercore of the early zeros with nods to psychedelia and theatricality is-for sure-my cup of tea…

Mood Six were a terrific neopsychedelic/mod band from Great Britain, with a quirky sense of humor and strong musical references to the Jam oriented English power pop scene of late 70s.Their sound heavily influenced from Paul Weller’s darlings The Jolt, tried a lot to be developed to more adventurous avenues of new wave like primitive post/punk,zippy art funk and even glam rock revival(Glitter Band loved them-Glitter Band were for a specific time in mid 70s the official musical vehicle of proto/punk legend Gary Glitter, before himself throws his dignity away, and also an amazing educated autonomous rock group) along with groups like Squire,Merton Parkas(Mick Talbott of Jam) and Lambrettas(but without the psychedelic influence).

Influential figure of mid to late 70s underground rock of New York-imagine an intellectual mix of Patti Smith’s feminist/social conscious lyrics, post Velvets Lou Reed’s outlaw attitude and raw punkiness with the free jazz/rock background of bands like Teenage Jesus and the Jerks,Beirut Slump and you have a small picture of this unknown artist.
