ARTERY – Oneafternoon in a hot air baloon

5 Jun

Artery could only be compared with the British glam punk revivalists/New Romantics Cuddly Toys(an early 80s transformation of 77 punks The Raped,a violent band of the first wave which faced the rage both of the punk rock fans and public musical press aficionados for their name and attitude) sharing a same common ground for old French Vaudeville, weird musical themes ,strange costumes and theatricality in excess.Artery also loved literature fulfilling their sound with a decadent charm, which paved the way for a more elegant and positive revision of the English New Wave which came later with groups like Smiths,Blue Orchids and generally the Twee/Pop scene of mid- early 80s.Gentle,Artistic and generous ,this was the POP for a new generation of fans who didn’t afraid to express their love for punk rock nihilism in the past and at the same time to fall in love with a romantic grey rainy picture of musical sensualism.
